        MBH successfully works with persons chemically addicted to opiates and or alcohol. A large part of our focus is working with individuals that would benefit from the use of an addiction medication, such as Methadone or Suboxone. MBH also works with non-chemically addicted individuals such as problem gamblers. The office is a warm and personable setting, yet professional.  We use a goal-oriented, cognitive behavioral therapy approach to treatment.  CBT has become the most well known, mainstream approach to therapy and it has by far the strongest research support for effectiveness. As we have often said, recovery from addiction is a process, not an event and it requires specialized approaches. It is a recognized strength of ours to work with addicted individuals with respect and dignity and without moral judgment. MBH supports individuals’ use of 12 step programs however; we effectively work with individuals who do not prescribe to 12 step philosophies. Not only the identified addiction is addressed but also the coexisting issues related to family, relationships, employment, mental health, spirituality and legal concerns. During the first visit clients should be prepared to complete a preliminary evaluation, begin a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment and share expectations. Our office hours are Tuesday - Friday evenings 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday, 10am – 5pm. When at all possible we accommodate special scheduling needs.  We also train on the use of Suboxone for non-medical providers should you or your practice colleagues see the need for further education on its use. As a referring provider, we assure you that when and if appropriate, we maintain a clear means of written and verbal communication regarding your patients entrusted to our care and support.
